The HALOGENS lamps
In 1958 the halogen lamp was introduced.
Halogen lamps are incandescent lamps with a tungsten filament contained in an inert gas and in a small quantity of halogen, such as iodine or bromide, which are chemical elements.
The tungsten is a chemical element which in its impure form is a white and grey color metal.
How do they work?
The halogen lamps have a bright light, which enables to put in relief the colors and the objects with much higher energetic efficiency than that of common incandescent lamps.
The halogen gas recycles a part of the burnt tungsten and transports a part to the filament again. Thus, the filament lasts longer and the halogen lamp lasts more than the incandescent bulb.
Where is it applied?
The market has a number of bulbs and luminaries focused to the illumination of commerce, hotels, museums, joinery and architecture in general.
Curiosities
The halogen lamps are an excellent solution in directed illumination, do not cause dazzle and permit the creation of projects that result in a more pleasant and sophisticated environment.
